The Story BehindVENTOVA
Simon Fries
Founder
After studying mechanical engineering, I worked in powertrain development at ZF Race Engineering, where I had the privilege of developing an inverter for a Formula E drivetrain. It was an exciting chapter, but over time I felt it was time for a path where I could move faster and shape products end-to-end.
When projects slowed down, I decided to take that step. As a classic jack-of-all-trades, I was able to bootstrap the entire MEMORIA development process myself, and this journey has been incredibly rewarding. It gave me a pace of learning and growth that no degree and no traditional employed role could have offered.
Now I'm building Ventova, a brand that merges elegant design with smart technology to create furniture that's more than static objects. Innovation has always driven me as an engineer: discovering what doesn't exist yet. I believe in using natural materials and prioritizing customer connection and sustainability over profit maximization. The vision is to build a community around thoughtful, intelligent design.
